Iconoclast: TED = Echo Chamber
“This past April, I gave a talk at the yearly TED conference” defending color blindness, i.e. “the idea that we should treat people without regard to race,” notes Coleman Hughes at the Free Press.
But this generated “blowback” from TED employees and a demand that “in lieu of releasing my TED talk normally,” it would be pubbed as part of a “moderated conversation” — implying that “my argument ought not be heard without also hearing the opposing perspective — that it shouldn’t be absorbed without a politically palate-cleansing chaser.”
And TED later failed to promote the video as it does others. TED claims to be “ ‘devoted to curiosity, reason, wonder, and the pursuit of knowledge — without an agenda,’ ” but: “My experience suggests otherwise.” “TED’s leadership must decide whether it wants to . . . become yet another echo chamber.”
Foreign desk: Collapse of the New Moral Order

If Republican moderates Chris Christie, Larry Hogan and Chris Sununu truly “desire to see their brand of moderate Republicanism return to dominance,” then “they should set their eyes on” US Senate “races they could win,” argues The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway.
In Christie’s New Jersey, Democrat Bob Menendez “was indicted on Friday for his alleged role in his family’s influence-peddling operation.”
Gov. “Hogan’s main achievement as the Republican leader of Maryland was to prevent whatever would have happened under Democrat leadership. He could fulfill that same role again” in the Senate, and “had Sununu run in 2022, he likely would have defeated Democrat Maggie Hassan” in New Hampshire.
If moderates “want to reclaim the Republican Party, what better way than to get into the Senate?”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “in a clear act of official disinformation smeared thousands of Canadian protesters as Nazis last year” when he “denounced a Jewish member of parliament” for “standing with ‘people who wave swastikas’ ” — actually, protesters against his COVID restrictions — yet, marvels Racket News’ Matt Taibbi, Justin just joined Parliament in applauding an actual ex-Nazi, a Ukrainian-Canadian “former soldier from the 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division” who has blogged “about joining Hitler’s army.”
Caught out, Trudeau “invoked ‘mistakes were made’ phrasing,” then complained of “ ‘Russian disinformation,’ as if that were to blame for this optics Hindenburg.”
Conservative: UAW Should’ve Hired Hunter
If striking autoworkers “really wanted their ‘fair share’ under the Biden administration,” snarks the Washington Times’ Charles Hurt, they’d “hire Hunter Biden — just ask the Ukrainians.”
“Fair share is for chumps and losers” but by hiring Hunter, “you get your fair share, plus everybody else’s fair share.”
That President Biden is joining the UAW picket line “though they didn’t pay his son millions of dollars” shows “that Lunch Bucket Joe needs the UAW more than UAW workers need Lunch Bucket Joe.”
When he sent his “emissaries to help negotiate a deal between UAW and Ford Motor Co.,” he was told to “buzz off.”
Those striking workers “are suffering as much — or more — under the Biden economy than the rest of Americans.” “And they didn’t have to pay Hunter Biden a dime to learn that painful lesson.”
