Deadline critic Katie Campione said: “Just like the live concert (and possibly even more so), Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is a complete celebration of her impressive 17-year career that fully showcases Swift’s joy and highlights what, perhaps for the first time she takes the stage for no one but herself.’

Katie did admit that there was a mistake: ‘Admittedly, audiences won’t see the exact performance that Swift performed each night, as several of the usual 44 songs were cut. It will surely be a disappointment to many, as it was to me, that about one or two songs from each era have been sacrificed, probably for the sake of time.’

Kristen Lopez of The Wrap shared, “Whether you were at the concert or seeing it for the first time, Swift put on a performance that dazzled, stunned and mesmerized.

‘Swift plays almost all the songs included in the Los Angeles shows, minus a few here and there. Hits like “Shake It Off” and “Cruel Summer” are present and accounted for, but it’s great to see how Swift plays with her audience and plays different characters during the performance.

‘Case in point, a sequence during her “Evermore” set where she performs “Tolerate It”. Like a mini-play, Swift and a dancer play out an estranged couple with all the emotion of watching an actual movie.’

Lopez also said the production was amazing.

“The level of detail on stage is a testament to Swift herself, but it’s a joy to watch between all the songs, whether it’s the fact that her microphone changes to match each album or how the audience can see the name Taylor on Swift’s guitar.’

And The Telegraph said the movie will have audience members dancing in the aisles.

‘If Barbie vs. Oppenheimer was the blockbuster duel of the summer, then last night’s world premiere of the Taylor Swift movie proved that she’s a one-woman Barbenheimer – a glittering, sparkly blonde and an atomic force that obliterates everything in its path , everything rolled. in one,’ says Thomas Jane Homes.

USA Today liked the movie too.

‘The entire film offers a front row seat to greatness. The performance is so massive that even the best seats in a stadium – and the King Kong-sized video screens – can only provide so much detail,” wrote Melissa Ruggieri.

‘But on the big screen, the close-ups are glorious, whether zooming in on Swift’s cat-eye make-up detailing her crystal blue eyes, the moss covering her piano and the sweat clinging to her bangs during “Champagne Problems” and her meticulous table setting at the beginning of “Tolerate It.”‘

Chris Willman of Variety added: ‘For most fans, this show isn’t so much about watching her career flash before their eyes – even though there is that – but their own rollercoaster lives. It’s kind of Broadway, kind of psychotherapy/church, and all too well executed.’

Swift’s movie was rreleased one day early due to ‘unprecedented demand’.

Although the film was initially set to bow this Friday, she delighted her fans by revealing that it will now debut in theaters on Thursday.

The bombshell news was revealed on Taylor’s Instagram page on Wednesday as she rushed to the film’s jam-packed premiere in Los Angeles.

As more than 2,200 of her fans descended on The Grove LA mall for the barnstorming event, Taylor, 33, fired up her social media to reveal the latest development in the film’s blockbuster.

“Look what you really made me do,” she wrote, in a sly nod to her 2017 single Look What You Made Me Do.

The film documents one of six sold-out shows Swift performed at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., over the summer as part of her ongoing Eras Tour, which kicked off in March and serves as a look back at her 17- years career.

It has already collected a whopping $100 million in pre-sale tickets alone and will be available to watch exclusively at AMC theaters starting Friday, October 13th.

Missing from the fan-packed action was Swift’s rumored beau Travis Kelce, 34, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will play the Denver Broncos in his team’s home stadium on Thursday.
