Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas has refuted a report that Taylor Swift may have been asked to stay away from the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade on Wednesday.

With reference to reporting from KCURthe New York Post published a story saying that City Manager Brian Platt had “suggested” that the city couldn’t handle the uproar she would bring if she chose to be there in support of friend Travis Kelce

“I can’t confirm or deny it, but we may have already told her team that, just to keep everyone safe and make things a little easier for us,” Platt said, according to KCUR.

Mayor Lucas, however, dismissed that idea, emphatically calling it “completely untrue” in response to the Post’s X account.

‘Just had a good conversation with @kcpolicecommissioner Graves. We are excited to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep everyone safe,” Mayor Lucas wrote.

“We will celebrate a great championship for our Chiefs!”

It remains unclear whether Swift will attend the parade as she begins a new leg of her Eras Tour in Melbourne on Friday.

She will play three shows there and another four in Sydney before heading to Singapore.

Swift was out late celebrating with Kelce and his Chiefs teammates after Kansas City defeated the 49ers 25-22.

The couple was seen sharing a kiss at the victory party as her hit ‘Love Story’ played in the background, while Kelce also made an appearance in the DJ booth.

The three-time Super Bowl winner grabbed the microphone and shouted, “Let’s go Chiefs,” while bumping his head.

He continued his MC-like role as he pumped up the crowd, at one point leading them in a chant of “Na, na, na, na, hey, hey, goodbye!” Although it is unclear who this was directed at.

As Swift watched, Sunday night’s Super Bowl averaged 123.4 million viewers, the most-watched telecast in history and the second-most-watched U.S. broadcast event behind the Apollo 11 moon landing.

The previous record belonged to last year’s Super Bowl, which averaged 115.1 million viewers.

CBS Sports announced the astonishing numbers less than 24 hours after the Kansas City Chiefs lifted the Lombardi Trophy.

On CBS itself, 120 million people watched the game, the largest audience in history for a single network.

Incredibly, more than 200 million viewers watched at least part of the Super Bowl across all networks and streams that aired the game.
