Spectrum 1 Albany reporter Kate Lisa also shared a video on Twitter, showing the activists – including former New York lieutenant governor candidate Ana Maria Archila – at the state Capitol concourse shouting, ‘One fair wage!’ repeatedly.

They were also trying to spread a massive pink banner across the concourse before they were arrested for disorderly conduct.

Sarandon and the others were all processed, issued appearance tickets and released.

The last time the state of New York increased the minimum wage in 2016 to $15, a report claimed wages for tipped workers fell 25% at that time.

Before her arrest, Sarandon spoke at the rally, where she insisted how important these workers are.

‘They are very, very important and need to be treated with dignity, not only for the back-breaking labor that they do, but what they have to do to communicate and understand and be patient and all the things that are linked to a successful business,’ Sarandon said.
