Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will only be out for “a few weeks” with the right ankle injury he suffered during Friday’s 139-122 loss to the New York Knicks, according to reports.
Beal was moving up for a three-point shot when he landed awkwardly on the foot of Knicks SG Donte DiVincenzo and appeared to roll his ankle in a horrifying moment Friday night.
The 30-year-old immediately grabbed the ankle and lay on the ground in pain for several minutes as he was attended to by trainers. He eventually left for the locker room after getting up and making his free throw.
An MRI confirmed there was no major damage to Beal’s ankle, which was reportedly sprained, after initially being said to be out indefinitely. And now The Shams Charania of athletics reports that he will only be on the sidelines for a few weeks.

Beal had played just five minutes while recording six points and an assist before suffering his latest injury.
After the game, Suns head coach Frank Vogel confirmed that he had sprained his right ankle after undergoing X-rays.
Beal, a three-time All-Star, has appeared in just six games this season, making his third appearance since missing time with a back injury that has plagued him through the early parts of the season.
His latest injury will only provide the much-needed reps the Suns ‘Big Three’ of Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker still need to develop chemistry.
The Suns’ three stars have played together just three times this season, including Friday night’s loss.
One player who seemed to take full advantage of the Suns missing Beal on the court was Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson.
He remained on the floor for several minutes before leaving for the locker room
Brunson recorded a career-high 50 points, nine assists and a career-high five steals as he single-handedly led the Knicks to their thrilling comeback victory, shooting an astonishing 9-9 from three-point range.
He also became the first Knicks guard to record a 50-point game since Jamal Crawford in 2007.
Brunson also became the first Knicks point guard to ever score 50 points in a single game.
