Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach has opened up about her romance with co-star Bobby Brazier after the couple split, as she insists they remain ‘good friends’.
The former Coronation Street actress, 23, is said to have split from the EastEnders actor, 20, just weeks after their romance first surfaced.
But she now spoke about the ‘bond’ between them that developed during the show and the later tour in an interview with The Sun on Sunday.
“We were the youngest people on Strictly and we were both going through the same experience – one that nothing can prepare you for,” she said.
“We had obviously developed a great friendship on the show, but it was really nice to be able to spend time with each other – and with everyone else – on tour.”

Ellie said the tour gave her and Bobby time to be together and get to know each other better than the TV show did due to the time constraints.
She also said that being the youngest people on the show was a bonding experience because it gave them something to interact with.
“We are good friends, we got along really well and we still do,” she added.
Bobby and Ellie first sparked dating rumors on Strictly Come Dancing in December and grew closer during the BBC show’s tour in January to February.
But while Bobby returns to his character Freddie Slater in the BBC soap and is reportedly exploring a potential career in Hollywood, Ellie has been touring British theaters in the Cluedo stage production.
A TV insider said this The sun: ‘Love blossomed between them when they were close to each other during the tour, but once it was over, they both spent much less time together.
‘That gave them space to think about the future, which will probably take them in a completely different direction over the next two years.
“So they decided it was best to quit while they were still ahead and still friends because they both really cherish the friendship they have.”

Ellie had ‘moved to London’ when her relationship with Bobby blossomed.
The Strictly champion lives in the capital where Bobby lives with his father after rekindling a romance.
Ellie’s cousin, actress Brooke Vincent, said she plans to meet her in London during an appearance on This Morning.
She said: ‘I’m seeing her tonight and she’s moved to London.’
Brooke added: “I could never do Strictly again since she won, she did amazing. You get tired of saying how proud you are.”
Bobby, who worked with Dianne Buswell, came second on Strictly after Ellie, who lifted the Glitterball trophy with partner Vito Coppola.
