Stolen items recovered in Kitengela, 4 suspects arrested

Detectives in Kitengela have recovered assorted stolen electronics and gas cylinders and arrested four male suspects.

In a crackdown informed through a tip-off from members of the public, police raided a rental house within the Kyang’ombe area suspected to be housing a gang of criminals before recovering the items.

At the time of the arrest, the four male suspects aged between 22 and 33 years were indoors and could not explain the source of the items.

The items included pricy television sets, laptops, mobile phones, generators and hoofers.

According to detectives, preliminary investigations rank the arrested suspects as the lead criminals who have been terrorizing locals resulting in a surge of home break-ins.

The items are later sold to unsuspecting members of the public through illegal second-hand items dealers.

Isinya Sub County police commander Patrick Manyasi says detectives are on high alert to curb crime and ensure the safety of Kenyans.

“The four suspects we have in our custody have given us crucial leads on criminal gangs stealing from members of the public. The criminals target portable household items which they sell at the readily available black market. We are following less to unearth rogue business persons involved in the trade to ensure we bring them to book to face the wrath of the law,” Manyasi warned.
