Stacey Solomon reveals the one ‘weird’ Christmas tradition she sticks to every year despite her whole family refusing to take part in it

Stacey Solomon has revealed the quirky Christmas get-up she's kept up every year since she was a child, despite her entire family refusing to take part.

The Loose Women panellist, 34, is getting ready to spend the holidays with husband Joe Swash, 41, and their children Rex, four, Rose, two, and Belle, seven months, as well as her two sons Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 11, from previous relationships.

And this year will be no different for her when it comes to one holiday ritual: half a grapefruit with sugar sprinkled on top for breakfast.

In a video about her Christmas likes and dislikes, posted to Loose Women's TikTok channel, she explained: 'This is going to sound really weird… my mum used to cut a grapefruit in half every Christmas morning, put some sugar on it and that was our breakfast.

“None of my kids will eat it, Joe won't eat it, it's not even that great, but I just have to do it every Christmas. I don't eat grapefruit all year round, but on Christmas morning I sit there with half my grapefruit and sugar and I really enjoy it.”

Elsewhere, Stacey opened up about what she likes and doesn't love about Christmas.

When asked about festive dishes, she said she preferred hot chocolate, exclaiming: 'mulled wine is disgusting! Who invented that?'

She also insisted Christmas pudding tastes like 'nail polish' but said she thought it looked beautiful when the alcohol-covered dessert was set on fire.

Earlier this month, Stacey celebrated her grandmother's 95th birthday by singing Christmas carols at her care home.

The television personality admitted she was nervous before singing, adding that she was “bound to be the resident singer at the care home.”

The former X Factor wrote on her Instagram Story at the time: 'About to become the Carehome (sic) Singer for the day. Grandma asked me to sing for her 95th birthday today, so here we are, Rose ready to sing.

“I get so nervous and embarrassed to sing in front of people these days, but how can I say no to grandma.”

In October, Stacey revealed how happy she was that her grandmother had moved into a care home near Pickle Cottage, where she and her family live.

She said it took years for her grandmother to be convinced, and when she finally agreed, it took Stacey and her sister months to get her into a suitable place.

Stacey wrote on social media: 'After years of trying we finally managed to convince Grandma to move closer to us so over the last few months we have found a care home close to me and my sister and today she is coming home.

'I can't even describe how happy we are. I feel so emotional because we are so lucky to have our grandma in our lives, so having her close where we can enjoy her every day will just mean the world to us.

'We are currently preparing her room and doing everything we can to put up her things and pictures and make the move as pleasant as possible so that she feels safe and excited.'
