Saumu Mbuvi, Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko’s daughter has opened up about her failed love life. In an interview, Saumu heaped praises at her first boyfriend, Ben Gathu, she added that despite him being broke, he showed care as compared to his successors. Gathu was allegedly Saumu Mbuvi’s first boyfriend. The two met during Saumu’s final year at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Saumu further alleged that the only person who could save her broken love life was Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Centre. Adding that she learnt a lot from her failed relationships. Sonko’s daughter further noted that amidst Gathu being a “kienyeji” boyfriend, he was the best since he didn’t engage in smoking or even drinking alcohol.
She revealed that she completely fell for Gathu since he was the direct opposite of her, in personality and behaviour. The mother of two added that despite being broke, Gathu once surprised her with ksh 300,000 during her graduation.
