Sancho has been training and eating separately from his senior teammates and has been forced to use the academy’s facilities after essentially calling his manager a liar on social media.

The player claimed he was made a ‘scapegoat’ by Ten Hag and suggested his manager was lying when the former Ajax head coach said he failed to pick Sancho in his matchday squad to travel to Arsenal because of his ‘performances in the match’. course’.

Ratcliffe is believed to be concerned about the way relations between Sancho and Ten Hag have deteriorated, with the manager taking a tough stance pending a sincere apology from the £73million player before letting him back into the fold .

It is also thought that the new interested party will keep an eye on Sancho’s declining value the longer he is sidelined for the senior side, as the former Dortmund star has not played since August.

Mail Sport reported on Tuesday that Juventus were among the clubs keen to court the player if he became available during the January transfer window, with a loan move viewed favourably.

But even if Sancho were to go out on loan, United would most likely have to subsidize part of his £275,000 weekly wages.

Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal could also be chosen as destinations in the coming window, although Sancho would prefer to remain in Europe if possible at this stage of his career.

Another key priority for Ratcliffe will be changing senior staff, with chief executive Richard Arnold and director of football John Murtough seen as the most vulnerable.
