Shark Tank failed to compete against rating juggernauts The Block and The Voice on Tuesday night after Channel 10 and 10Play premiered the series’ reboot.

The reality television show, which sees entrepreneurs from across the country pitch their inventions to a panel of investors, yielded dismal viewership numbers.

Falling behind The Voice by 217% nationally, the show pulled just 322,000 viewers, including 237,000 in the capital cities.

The reboot premiere was down 54% nationally (53% in capital cities) on the 2018 series launch episode which aired during an 8.30pm timeslot.

It pulled in ahead of The Traitors and The Real Love Boat, both aired by Channel 10, with the former rating a metro audience of 257,000 during its premiere.

Meanwhile, the latter opened to a metro audience of just 215,000 before drastically dropping off in following episodes.

Staff were told by network boss Bev McGarvey late last year that she couldn’t promise there will be no job losses.

The network also reportedly cancelled its staff 2022 Christmas party following the network’s disastrous year.
