Shannon Noll reveals the moment he knew he had to change something about his life and started hitting the gym: ‘I couldn’t have that’

Shannon Noll has opened up about the moment he decided to transform his lifestyle and physical appearance.

The Australian singer, 47, told Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Friday that he hit the gym after “going fat-skinny.”

“I’ve been back in the gym for over 18 months now,” he said.

Host Ryan Fitzgerald asked: Was there a catalyst for that Shannon? Was there a moment where you thought, “You know what, I’m not happy with the way I’m living my life and I need to change”?’

‘Yes, I started to become fat-skinny, because I am already naturally skinny, I have skinny legs. If I don’t train and drink, you look like ET,” Shannon said.

“You’re getting the beer belly,” Fitzy replied.

Shannon agreed, adding, “Yes that’s right…I couldn’t have that so I thought I needed to get back to the gym. I train very hard and try to watch what I eat while training.’

It comes after Shannon and Cosima De Vito recently addressed rumors they were involved in a feud following their stint on Australian Idol.

The singers rose to fame during the talent show’s very first series in 2003, reaching the final three alongside Guy Sebastian, who was eventually crowned the winner.

Cosima came third after being forced to leave the competition due to throat lumps that threatened to damage her voice, leaving fans devastated.

At the time, viewers speculated whether Cosima received more votes than Shannon despite leaving due to her health, sparking wild rumors of a rift between them.

However, more than two decades later, the pair have firmly denied there was ever any bad blood between them as they reunited for a duet on Shannon’s new album, That’s What I’m Talking About.

Shannon admitted he felt “bad” for Cosima following her “rough” and sudden departure from Australian Idol, but insisted they have always been friends despite the drama.

Speaking about the criticism Shannon received for making the final after her departure, Cosima admitted: ‘I felt really bad for Shannon, I felt really guilty.

“We never talked about it, and we were always friends, and it was clear that we wanted the best for each other. There were never any hard feelings in any way.”
