Selena Gomez furiously defends her new man Benny Blanco as fans were quick to remind her that he has ‘shaded’ her in the past
On Thursday, Gomez confirmed that she has been dating the music producer for six months, calling him “my absolute everything” in an Instagram post.
In the comments section, things quickly got heated between her and her fans, as they accused Benny of “not treating her right” and disrespecting her in the past.
They were especially upset about a resurfaced interview in which Benny appeared to call her a “cookie-cutter pop artist” while praising her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
“As you know, they’re like, ‘Here’s my new single and here’s my makeup line,’” he told podcast host Zach Sang in 2020.
While that could easily be a joke for Gomez — owner of makeup brand Rare Beauty — she doesn’t seem bothered by it.
