A fed-up Essendon fan has succumbed after enduring a tirade of abuse from a Collingwood supporter as he returned home from the Anzac Day match at the MCG on a packed train.
Footage of the incident, which shows a Dons fan receiving a verbal lashing from what appears to be a younger man wearing a Magpies scarf, has been uploaded to social media and shared widely.
“Okay, four eyes!” The Collingwood supporter could be heard shouting during the video clip as the pair traded barbs.
The Bombers fan shrugged off the childish comment and asked how old the other passenger was.
‘To the cakes, 2023!’ shouted the Collingwood supporter, referring to his side’s premiership victory last year.

The Dons fan replied: ‘We’re ten years away from the flag – at least I’m being honest.’
The Collingwood supporter then took his abuse up a notch.
‘Ten years! Then you won’t live anymore, you damned obese bastard,’ he shouted.
Other passengers on the train reacted strongly to the comment, telling the Collingwood supporter to calm down.
The Dons fan snapped and stood up to fire back with a sharp comeback.
“Yes, I’m fucking obese!” he screamed.
‘Who cares! I’m proud to be fat!’
Other passengers could then be seen trying to get between the arguing football fans and calm the situation by reminding everyone that it was Anzac Day.

Langford, who starred with four goals – including two in a pulsating final quarter – had the chance to win the match after scoring with less than two minutes to go.
But the Bombers forward fired his shot from 30 yards out to take the scores to 12.13 (85) each, completing the first Anzac Day tie since the first blockbuster in 1995.
Collingwood had a chance to put the game away when they immediately fired the ball down the other end, but Magpies forward Jamie Elliott spilled a diving marker near the boundary, about 50 yards out.
Essendon tried to go again but couldn’t put the ball back into their front 50 before the siren sounded.
