Content creator Kennedy Matiko Rioba alias Babushka has expressed his dismay after being gifted a pair of socks during the festive season from a random woman in Church.
The physically impaired internet sensation expressed his displeasure wondering how he would wear the socks given his situation.
“A random mom gifted me this gift on Christmas Eve during the church service. I have been so busy since then until today when my little bro @lam_barack reminded me to unbox it. I was so excited about it. Only to find it was a pair of socks. Now, how will it help me? Thank you for the gift though.”
According to the content creator, the gift was impractical urging people to consider certain aspects when gifting someone, like how it will be of value to him or her.
“Before you gift someone a present, please know its value to him/her. Not that I’m ungrateful. I appreciate the gift, but let the truth be said – it won’t help me anymore. I’ll just hand them over to my bro,” he added.
Babushka: Disability is not an inability
Babushka graduated with a law degree from Kisii University in December 2023.
He aspires to become a politician and a fervent advocate for individuals with disabilities.
He creates content by dancing in the streets.
In a past interview, he revealed that his content approach aims to spread the message that they are just as normal and deserving of happiness as anyone else.
“No one supports me. When I surprise people living with disabilities, I encourage them that we are normal, just like other people, and they feel happy. What I do is just from my heart; no one is sponsoring me,” he said.
