A San Francisco lawyer allegedly killed his mother and her innocent pooch Thursday before authorities fatally shot him when he charged at them with a knife, according to reports.

Marc Child, 37, allegedly killed the 76-year-old woman and the dog inside his parents’ home around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, police and law enforcement sources told the San Francisco Standard.

He was then shot after charging toward responding cops and his 84-year-old father near the front of the home, the news outlet reported.

He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Child’s elderly father woke up early Thursday to find his troubled son walking around in the home, a police official reportedly said.

When he was told to go back to bed, Child allegedly attacked his loved ones.

Officers found the mother and dog dead when they entered the house.

The father was injured.

“It’s upsetting for all of us, it’s upsetting for the community, the neighborhood, the officers, especially the officers that responded to the scene and had to deal with such a horrendous event,” Officer Eve Laokwansathitaya said, according to KGO.

The slain woman was identified as Barbara Child with her surviving husband identified as Roland Child, KTVU reported.

A neighbor told the station she received a call from a distraught Roland following the killing.

“He sounded like he was in left field,” Effie Bountouvas said. “All he said was, ‘I lost my Barbara.’”

Bountouvas said the slain suspect was a lawyer.

The Standard and Mission Local also reported that the alleged killer was a lawyer who was licensed to practice in the state.

Court records indicate the 37-year-old was accused of assaulting loved ones at least two other times, the Standard reported.

His parents sought a restraining order against their son after he attacked them both in 2021, court records reportedly indicate.

The fatal police shooting of Child is under investigation, as is the death of his mother and the pet dog.
