Samantha Armytage shares moving tribute to her ‘glamorous’ Nanny Flannery on her 98th birthday

Samantha Armytage has shared a moving tribute to her grandmother.

The ex-Sunrise star, 46, took to Instagram on Sunday to share two rarely seen photos of her beloved Nanna Flannery, alongside sweet words.

‘Happy Birthday to my beautiful Nanny Flannery,’ she began.

’98 today. So glamorous, So strong, my wonderful role model in how to be a gracious woman… Isn’t she amazing?!? Love her to bits.’

It comes after Samantha revealed she has six chickens on the farm she shares with husband Richard Lavender.

‘Meet our new girls. I named five of them,’ she wrote alongside a snap of the chickens playing in their henhouse.

She then revealed she had chosen a colour theme when naming five of the fowl, Chastity Brown, Millie Bobbie Brown, Capability Brown and Tina Brown.

Her husband named the sixth, Brownie.

Sam sold her North Bondi home for $2.8million in July 2020, before moving to a Southern Highlands farm to live with Richard.

She tied the knot with Lavender, a successful equestrian businessman, at his 40-hectare property in Bowral on New Year’s Eve in 2020.

The journalist met her husband at socialite Skye Leckie’s 60th birthday party in April 2019, and she said there was an instant connection.

She previously told Stellar: ‘I think we make a good match. I was very lucky to find him at that point in my life.’

Richard added about the early days of their romance: ‘There’s been a lot said about that stuff but, honestly, I think she was just looking for something a bit different when she met me.’

Richard is a stakeholder of Lavender Equestrian, which offers a variety of services for horses in the region, including breeding and training.

According to property records, his 40-hectare farm in Berrima cost $1.95million when he bought it in 2007.
