Matildas captain Sam Kerr has commented on the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis by sharing a musician’s comments blasting trolls who sensationalized ‘a woman’s desire for privacy’.

Kate Middleton, 42, announced Saturday that she is undergoing preventive chemotherapy for cancer diagnosed after her abdominal surgery last month.

Messages of support have come from all over the world, with Kensington Palace stating that the princess and her husband William have been ‘hugely touched’ by the public’s kindness.

“I hope the people and media who sensationalized a woman’s desire for privacy after a public health incident experience regret and remorse,” Halsey wrote.

‘And it would remain that way even without the terrible news of her journey.

‘I understand that when you live a public life, things like this can get out of hand. But god forbid anyone needs a break for a few weeks or months, it’s no one’s business why.”

“And with respect to public life, who you are and how you fare when you ‘sign up for this’ can change at any time,” she said.

“Each newly changed ‘you’ in place (for whatever length of time; days, weeks, years) may not have the same staying power or tolerance.”

Kerr has kept a low profile since her racial harassment complaint became public.

The Matildas and Chelsea striker’s legal drama – as exclusively revealed by the Mail – means she will be tried before a jury in February next year.

The story broke on March 5 and Kerr has made no public comment on her shock start to the year, which also saw her dream of representing Australia at the Paris Olympics all but ruined by a serious knee injury she suffered in January.

Meanwhile, the King, who is facing his own battle with cancer, has praised 42-year-old Kate’s bravery in filming the emotional video in Windsor.

In it, she revealed her “huge shock” at discovering cancer and said she and William had done everything they could to “process and manage this privately” for the sake of their three children.

Politicians and celebrities joined the public in sending messages of support, while cancer experts said Kate’s powerful message would help other families in the fight against the disease.

Hashtags including ‘WeLoveYouCatherine’ and ‘GetWellSoonCatherine’ were trending on social media site X all day yesterday.

Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer said Kate showed “incredible strength and poise” in her video message.
