Robert Irwin set to 'move to Perth' to live with his girlfriend Rorie Buckey's family and leave Australia Zoo behind as the couple's relationship heats up

Robert Irwin is set to move to Perth to live with his girlfriend Rorie Buckey, according to a new report. 

The wildlife star, 19, wants to explore his relationship with Rorie, also 19, but she is currently residing in Perth as she finishes her studies while he continues to work at his family’s world-famous Australia Zoo. 

The couple are said to be finding long distance and travelling between Western Australia and Queensland ‘hellish’.  

‘It’s a real pain,’ a source told Woman’s Day. 

‘Right when they really want to explore their relationship, they have this hellish distance between them,’ they added. 

‘Rorie is stuck in Perth with her studies so the logical solution is for Robert to move there – at least for a while – and her folks are adamant he stays with them.’

Rorie’s family have been more than welcoming of Robert, and her parents are  apparently thrilled about the pair being the perfect match.

‘They’re a very close-knit crew, and if Robert is willing to make the sacrifice to move to the big city for their daughter, they’re going to do what they can to make it work,’ the source added.

While mother Terri is reportedly concerned the pair are moving ‘too fast’ she is reportedly open to the idea.

According to the magazine, Terri knows Robert is in ‘good hands’ and is interested in getting to know Rorie’s parents if her son chooses to move to Western Australia. 

The family matriarch has invited the Buckeys to Australia Zoo for Christmas to spend time with herself, Bindi and Chandler Powell. 

Robert and Rorie made their red carpet debut in Sydney for the Mission Impossible premiere in Sydney last month.

Robert looked dashing in a black suit with a tuxedo style lapel as he wrapped his arm around his love and posed for photographers.

Girlfriend Rorie looked sensational in asymmetric black maxi dress that featured one-sleeve, one-shoulder detailing.

At one point, Robert tenderly wrapped his arms around Rorie as they appeared to share a joke and giggle.

Their outing comes after news Robert is reportedly planning to pop the question to Rorie after several months of dating.

According to New Idea magazine, protective mother Terri has concerns that her lovestruck son and his smitten girlfriend will rush down the aisle too early.

‘Terri feels like Robert is moving way too fast,’ a source told the publication.

‘Rorie’s a sweetheart and it’s easy to see why he is absolutely smitten, but Terri knows the stakes are high,’ they added.

The publication also claimed Robert is a ‘romantic’ who is hoping to emulate his mother’s quick engagement to her late husband Steve after just eight months of dating in 1992.

Robert comes from one of Australia’s most famous families. Here is father, Steve, along with mother Terri and sister, Bindi, prior to Steve’s untimely death in 2006. Pictured
