Initial investigations suggest that the incident was a case of domestic abuse, with no signs of external involvement. The District Attorney confirmed that only the deceased family members were present in the residence at the time of the incident. The Kamals formerly operated an educational systems company, EduNova, which has since ceased operations. Online records suggest that the couple had previously encountered financial difficulties. Their company was established in 2016, but was dissolved in December 2021. Teena, identified as the company’s chief operational officer on the EduNova website, held degrees from Delhi University in India and Harvard University.
