A royal commentator has remarked that Prince William’s recent mention of Prince Harry highlights their fractured relationship rather than offering reconciliation. In a new documentary, William spoke about his brother, which some interpreted as an attempt to mend fences.
In the ITV documentary, “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” the Prince of Wales discusses his dedication to addressing homelessness. This commitment stems from childhood visits to shelters with Princess Diana and Harry. However, royal expert Phil Dampier refuted the idea that William’s mention was conciliatory.
“It’s viewed by some as an olive branch because it’s the first time in six years he’s mentioned Harry in this documentary,” Dampier commented. “I don’t see it that way. The rift remains wide, unfortunately.”

Dampier further noted, “It’s sadly indicative of a missed opportunity for collaboration on something they both experienced as children. Now, it’s just William, with Harry absent.”
William’s first visit to a homeless shelter occurred in December 1993. Diana took him and Harry to The Passage, a charity assisting newly homeless people. “She brought both Harry and me there. I must have been around 11, maybe 10. It was my first experience of such a place,” William recalled. “I initially thought that without homes, everyone would be terribly sad, but the environment was surprisingly happy.”
