Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ considered ‘most discarded’ book this summer: report

Prince Harry’s memoir is the “most discarded” book of the summer among vacationers, a travel company claimed.

The Duke of Sussex’s tell-all “Spare” has reportedly been dumped in hotel rooms, trash cans, and left poolside at various resorts in Spain, Greece, and Turkey since its explosive release in January.

Travel company On The Beach says it’s found over 100 discarded copies of the book this summer.

“We’ve never witnessed anything quite like it. Lost property offices in our most popular resorts are brimming with copies of ‘Spare,’” Chief customer officer Zoe Harris told the Express

“We thought it was funny at first but, over the past few months, several other hotels have been sending the books back.”

Harris said the company now has “bookcases full” of “Spare,” and has asked hotels to “stop sending them over otherwise we’ll never get rid of them all.”

“Maybe we should all take a leaf out of Harry’s book and spare ourselves the bother in the first place,” she added.

The company said it will be giving away the left behind copies online.

Harry’s polarizing book shattered the record for the fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time in the first week of its release.

His revelatory account of the royal family and his personal life sold a whopping 1.43 million copies during its first day on sale in the UK, US, and Canada, according to Guinness World Records.

In his protocol-shattering book, which was accompanied by a string of onscreen interviews, Harry, 38, slammed the royal family over its treatment of his wife, Meghan Markle.

In “Spare,” Harry shockingly claimed he was only bred for “spare parts” for his older brother, Prince William, two years his elder and the heir to the throne.

He also characterized William as a bully and accused him of physically attacking him and pointing his finger in Markle’s face.

Harry went on to claim that his stepmother, Queen Camilla, leaked stories about the royal family to the media to maintain her image and boost her popularity.

The duke later added fuel to the fire by revealing that he and William “begged” their father not to marry Camilla.

The younger son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana revealed he has enough content to write even more books about his experience growing up as a royal, as he cut out nearly half the first draft.

In particular, the exiled royal said a lot of content about William and their father was removed from “Spare” to avoid an unrepairable rift.
