How many times will the Biden-Obama crowd get played by Iran?

Yes, it’s encouraging that five unjustly imprisoned Americans were moved from the notorious torture-den Evin Prison into house arrest last week.

But at what cost?

Lefties claim this could be an opening for greater cooperation between America and Iran, and even perhaps a deal to curb Tehran’s nuclear weapons program.

We’ll keep our champagne corked, thank you.

For starters, the deal entails a ransom payment of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds, in addition to the release of several Iranians jailed in the United States.

The money is meant for humanitarian purposes, but it frees up Tehran to use other money for its terror and weapons programs.

As for greater cooperation and even a nuke deal with Iran, dream on.

Tehran has proven repeatedly it does not keep its promises, so what good are talks and signed documents?

No, America shouldn’t release a penny in funds, free a single Iranian prisoner, or lift any sanctions until well after Iran has verifiably and permanently fulfilled all its commitments.

Remember: The first half of Biden’s term was characterized by an utterly humiliating failed effort to coax Iran back into ex-prez Barack Obama’s disastrous nuclear deal.

Biden did real damage as he pursued this insane goal, hurting Washington’s relationship with countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel.

The result?

Iran has stockpiled massive amounts of enriched uranium and continues to destabilize the region and even plot against people on American soil.

And, of course, the Obama deal freed up over $100 billion in frozen assets, money spent on weapons later used against Americans in Iraq.

Even as it left Iran free to pursue nukes after a period of time.

On Saturday, Western forces warned shippers to stay far away from Iranian waters to avoid being seized, as the US mulls placing military personnel on commercial boats in the Strait of Hormuz.

These are the people we suddenly expect to do a good-faith deal?

Biden may want to reprise his former boss’ Iran diplomacy, but he should’ve learned his lesson by now.

Promises won’t cut it; Iran needs to prove itself before America rewards it with anything
