Police officers have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Eastleigh which occurred on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
In a statement on Saturday, November 23, 2024, police said they have arrested a man in connection to the brazen murder of Abdirahim Abdulahi Ibrahim, a 25-year-old who was killed in the presence of his girlfriend near DD Plaza in Eastleigh.
“Today, DCI Officers acting on intelligence report conducted an operation within Kiambiu slums and apprehended one male adult aged 27 years, linked to the fatal shooting of one Abdirahim Abdullahi Ibrahim in California,” police said in a statement.
Adding: “The suspect is also connected to the murder of one police officer namely PC David Mayaka of DCI Makadara which occurred in the Mihango Kayole area on 23/08/2023 who was fatally shot by three men riding on a motorcycle with the matter before a court.
Caught on CCTV
Following the shooting on November 9, 2024, police launched investigations to unravel the circumstances around the incident which was caught on CCTV where the suspect found the two love birds in a street and pointed a gun at Abdirahim shooting him in the neck.
Police accounts revealed that the CCTV showed the assailant inching closer to the couple before drawing his gun and shooting at point-blank. The man in a cap was also seen snatching the deceased’s phone before making away on foot.
Postmortem results indicated that Abdirahim died of excess loss of blood following the incident. He was buried on Sunday, November 11, 2024, at the Lang’ata cemetery.
Police say the arrested person is in their custody for processing ahead of appearing in court in connection with the shooting in Eastleigh.

“The suspect is in police custody at Shauri Moyo Police Station. DCI Shauri Moyo is investigating, with the case currently Pending Before Court. The National Police Service would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank members of the public for their support,” police said.
The arrest comes weeks after police arrested an Ethiopian national Hashim Dagane Muhumed in Eastleigh who is linked to the murders of four women.
Muhumed, who was arrested on November 3, 2024, is believed to be involved in the Lang’ata cemetery incident after they revealed CCTV footage showing a person, they suspect to be Muhumed leaving an apartment in Lavington with nylon bags.
Police have now linked the disappearance of a lady identified as Deka Abdinoor Gorone on October 29, 2024, to Muhumed after reviewing CCTV images from Quickmart supermarket in Nairobi and those of the apartment in Lavington.
