An ultralight aircraft has crashed in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, seriously injuring one man.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on Little Hill Road in Beverley, about 130km south-east of Perth, at around 11am AWST on Saturday.

The pilot, a man believed to be in his sixties, was seriously injured in the crash.

It is understood he was the only person on board the plane.

Police, ambulances and fire and emergency services are on site.
