Sensational arbantone rapper Maandy popularly known as Kabaya has bought herself a sleek Honda CRV for her daily movement.
The expressive female rapper on Wednesday took to her social media accounts to flaunt the Japanese SUV stating that she had acquired the sleek ride by fully settling the bill.
“Everyone; say hi to my new baby. This is a gift and a reminder to myself that my tomorrows will only get better. Debt-free, loan-free, because God’s grace will always be abundant. Big gurl, big car big dreams and even bigger cheques,” she stated
Maandy expressed her optimism in the country’s music industry, noting that it was a dream for her to be on top at a time when the music industry is rewarding.
With back-to-back hits under her belt, the bad gyal hitmaker has been on a path to stardom, with some of her music becoming household choruses popular with Tiktokers.
Thanks to her extensive partnerships with some of the industry greats like Breeder Lw, Kabaya has cut a niche for herself after rising from a DJ in her early years to becoming a fully-fledged female emcee in a male-dominated music genre.
Her real name Amanda Wambui, Kabaya is arguably one of the best female rappers in the country and has headlined some of the most attended concerts in Nairobi.
The 25-year-old rapper joins a small group of city dwellers who own cars as their mode of daily transport, thanks to her songs which have become club-bangers.
On September 24, 2024, Kabaya was forced to react after a popular X user- Polo Kimani advised her to change her lyricism to
“Gen Z artists you need to get serious with music. What you’re singing these days is not sustainable. Maandy the short round one has been singing about how horny she is in the last 6 tracks she released, wengine ni bangi na Miraa. There is a reason we listen to Jaguar’s music up to date,” Kimani wrote.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Maandy told the influencer to keep off her music if he was disinterested.
She wrote: ” Whenever it’s time to discredit someone you’re very loud. Mi ni mtu nikona extensive catalogue unaandika shallow takes na kudiss dem just because the audience chooses which of my songs to make popular. Wacha kutumia akili kama accessory na kutype ufala. Achana na mimi weh mbleina!”
