Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is seeking advice on how to handle blackmail incidents that involve compromising photos and videos from witty women.
In a statement shared on his Instagram on Sunday, October 27, 2024, Salasya expressed frustration over a rising trend where women secretly record intimate moments with individuals and later use these recordings as leverage for financial gain.
According to Salasya, these individuals take photos or videos of men during vulnerable moments and later send them as “view once” messages on WhatsApp. They use the content to demand money and threaten to release the media if their demands are not met. The lawmaker cited that a woman could demand Ksh300,000 to prevent the release of such images and videos.
The legislator questioned the appropriate response to such situations and how one could address the growing trend.
“Hawa wasichana wa kukupiga picha na video ukiwa umelala alafu anakutumia view once baadaye kwa WhatsApp and asks you umupe 300k ama awachilie photos na video, how do we treat this cases?”Salasya asked.

Salasya’s journey to find a life partner has been anything but smooth, frequently making headlines due to his high-profile romantic interests. Among these was his well-publicized attempt to win over Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe, a pursuit that eventually turned sour as they exchanged jabs on social media following her lack of interest.
Back in 2022, Salasya also expressed admiration for content creator Azziad Nasenya, but she politely declined. Despite some women showing interest, Salasya has yet to find someone who aligns with his values and vision for a relationship.
Recently, he shed light on why he remains single, explaining that he wants a wife who is both occupied with her ambitions and also willing to embrace a traditional lifestyle.
He believes that many women in Nairobi prioritize city living, while he prefers someone open to a simpler, rural life. Some have advised him to consider a teacher or banker, seeing their busy lives as less likely to create relationship strain.
“The issue with finding a wife, and this is something girls need to understand; the Bible says submission is key. It’s Biblical, it’s spiritual; you should be submissive,” Salasya explained.
Adding;
“It’s very hard for me to find someone because girls nowadays want to stay in Nairobi, but I want someone who can live in the village. Someone advised me to get a teacher or banker—someone busy so they won’t bring me stress.”
In another recent revelation, Salasya shared that he wouldn’t date a virgin, finding the responsibility too burdensome.
He stated that if he found out his partner was a virgin, he would prefer her to gain experience elsewhere before coming back to him. Nonetheless, he believes that rural men like himself are better suited for this than city men, whom he describes as lacking the strength for such a commitment.
“Type of a woman I would never wish to meet in my life; A virgin. When I realise she is a virgin I will allow her to go have another man to break her virginity and come back to me. I hate to labour to break a woman for another man hehe…though sisi vienyeji we are better at breaking virgins than born town who are very weak on the bed,” Salasya shared.
