Penny Lancaster, 52, is still aided by a crutch as she playfully sticks out her tongue while leaving Madonna’s Celebration Tour in London

Penny Lancaster looked in good spirits on Sunday night as she left Madonna’s acclaimed tour at London’s O2 Arena, despite still needing the support of her crutches.

The wife of Rod Stewart, 52, playfully stuck her tongue out as she got into the waiting car to take her home.

The model has been spotted using crutches several times over the past week, and revealed that she has suffered a torn meniscus in her right knee.

Her spokesperson explained to the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: “Penny suffered a torn meniscus in her right knee.” The cause of the injury is unknown; nor is treatment at this stage.

The injury is believed to have been sustained abroad and is not related to her activities as a special constable.

Madonna kicked off her Celebration Tour on Saturday night, where she put on a stunning show.

While the Like A Virgin hitmaker brought all the pomp and circumstance to the stage, delivering many of his biggest hits from his 40-year career on his first tour, the performance was not without its faults.

The show came to an abrupt halt after only the fourth song, which was her hit Burning Up, when technical problems arose with the sound.

Like the consummate professional, the singer-songwriter took control of the situation and announced that her crew would have to ‘hit the reset button’.

“This is exactly what you don’t want to happen on opening night, so this wasn’t planned, I’m sorry,” the pop star told fans, according to Metro.

With time to kill, Madonna continued to entertain the audience with stories about her youth to prevent the show from descending into chaos.
