Paul Rudd admitted ‘it’s a silly way to make a living’ as he opened up about what it’s really like to play one of his childhood heroes in the new Ghostbusters film.
The Clueless actor, 54, stars as Mr Gary Grooberson in 2024’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which was released in cinemas on March 22.
And it was no surprise that the acting sensation, who starred in 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, took on fighting ghosts and zapping ghosts.
He admitted to Chris Moyles on Radio X on Tuesday that he grew up watching films and has always been a big fan of Bill Murray.
But the thought of holding a proton gun next to his childhood superheroes “made no sense at all” to him.

When Chris asked Paul if he was super excited when he heard he would be in the new movie, Paul said it was “weird” to process.
“It was weird to think, ‘Wait a minute, I’m going to be in a Ghostbusters movie,’ and there’s no point in putting on that suit and the proton pack and standing next to them. whatever.’
Paul further admitted that filming for the movie is a “cool life experience,” but also revealed that he may look like he has nerves of steel to tackle the ghosts of New York, but he’s actually very “self-aware.” is.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is the fifth film in the beloved science fiction comedy franchise.
Jason Reitman, whose father Ivan Reitman directed the original Ghostbusters, co-wrote the new film with director Gil Kenan.
Before taking up the mantle of his father’s franchise, Jason made his own films with critically acclaimed films such as Juno and Up In The Air.
Paul is joined in the new Ghostbusters by a cast of notables, including Stranger Things child star Finn Wolfhard (Trevor Spengler) and The Leftovers actress Carrie Coon (Callie Spengler).
Patton Oswalt (Dr. Hubert Wartzki), who appeared in Jason’s devastating film Young Adult starring Charlize Theron, is also in the new photo, as is fellow comedian Kumail Nanjiani (Nadeem Razmaadi).
