Pattaya City mobilised a significant workforce from the Department of Resource and Environment along with other relevant agencies to carry out a massive clean-up operation at Bali Hai Pier.

This initiative, conducted yesterday, June 27, follows direct orders from Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, who visited the area recently and highlighted the need for improvements.

Prime Minister Srettha’s visit to Bali Hai Pier on June 22 prompted immediate action to address tourism-related concerns. During his visit, he instructed local officials to remove overhead power and communication lines and enhance the overall cleanliness of the area.

The Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, Manoch Nongyai, led the clean-up efforts yesterday, joined by the heads of the City’s Construction and Maintenance Department, the Botany Department, and other officials.

The clean-up operation primarily focused on removing debris and organising the cables and wires around the pier. The deputy mayor announced that the work is expected to be completed within three to four days.

Manoch also mentioned that dead trees in the vicinity of the pier will be replaced. Botany officials are currently selecting 20 new trees to plant around the pier, a process expected to be completed within two to three months.

It is worth noting that during the visit, there was no mention of the long-abandoned Waterfront Condo, a structure tied up in numerous legal disputes, which remains an unresolved issue at the pier, reported the Pattaya News.

Pattaya officials remain committed to enhancing the city’s infrastructure and aesthetics, aiming to boost tourism and provide a more pleasant experience for visitors and residents alike. The ongoing efforts at Bali Hai Pier are part of this broader initiative.
