Pat McAfee has blasted ESPN chief Norby Williamson again after claiming he didn’t have a “motherly boss.”
McAfee, who hosts his own daily network sports talk show, took aim at Williamson again, doubling down on comments he made last month about the director’s attempt to “sabotage” his program.
During a performance op Showtime’s ‘All the Smoke’ podcastthe gambler turned TV personality did not specifically mention Williamson, but viewed his earlier comments as “just a warning shot before I thought a person was on the same (level).”
“I report directly to (ESPN president) Jimmy (Pitaro) and (Disney CEO) Bob (Iger),” McAfee said.
‘I saw (media reports) ‘Pat calls his boss.’ I don’t have a goddamn boss. What are we…? Are we talking about Jimmy Pitaro or Bob Iger?

The talk show host went on a rant during an appearance on Showtime’s “All the Smoke” podcast
‘So, is that what we’re talking about? Because those are people you could technically describe as my boss.’
McAfee continued to go through a long list of issues he had in the past with a specific executive, including not showing up and having to wait 45 minutes for a meeting – which he previously claimed Williamson did to him.
“That guy wasn’t a fan of me – or our operation – for a long time,” McAfee said.
McAfee also described the experience of having his show take the place of SportsCenter’s afternoon broadcast as feeling like he was “at war” after some people within ESPN failed to roll out the welcome wagon when he first arrived at the company.
He also expressed regret over the impact his comments had on some of his allies at the network, such as Pitaro and ESPN’s content president, Burke Magnus.
“I really didn’t expect it to be that big because I didn’t think I said something so crazy,” McAfee said.
‘You know what I mean? … Like if I had really wanted to take down a motherfucker, I thought I could have done it in a much bigger way. And I didn’t. So I was actually quite proud of myself.
‘I thought: look at me, I’m grown up. And then it got loud.”
