Painful Story Of The Once Popular Kikuyu Gospel Musician Gladwell Kinuthia And Where She Is Today

If you are a fan of Kikuyu gospel music you must have come across Gladwell Kinuthia at some point. She is among the founders of Kikuyu gospel industry around 19th century when she was still a young lady. She recorded her last song in the year 2007 which has left Kenyans wondering her whereabouts.

Some hours ago she was in an interview where she talked about her life story and where she has been for that long time. According to her, she started as a primary school teacher before she was forced to resign which really affected her life. After resigning she ditched herself in the music industry and by God’s grace she became very popular.

Later around 1999 her husband fell sick and in the early 2000 he died which took her life back to Zero. This was after people who had sold them land come back and demanded ownership and after going to court she lost. Land grabbers even sent thiefs to threaten her and her daughter and she decided to leave the land in peace.

She moved to Zimmerman where she lives up to date under objective poverty. She has now written three books but unfortunately she has no money to publish them so that every Kenyan can get her message of hope. She has also written more than one hundred songs but she doesn’t have money to record them. She said that she didn’t take a break from music industry because she sick but she also wanted to find herself again.

She feels her gospel music is a ministry and not employment and whoever feels they can support the ministry should reach her out. Watch the full video below and share your views.
