Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi’s life journey has been nothing short of eventful. From starting as a humble matatu tout to facing allegations of educational forgery, and most recently, casually donating KSh. 20 million at a church harambee as if it were just another day.

Alongside Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Sudi seems to have taken the spotlight from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, often being chosen to represent the President at church events. Notably, the President frequently utilizes church platforms as a strategic tool.

But let’s steer clear of presidential matters for now. Who is Oscar Sudi exactly?

  1. Worked as a Makanga in Humble Beginnings

Sudi, now 44, began his journey from humble beginnings. He started as a herder, then moved to selling charcoal and groceries. Sudi helped his mother manage a grocery stall near Moi University, where he developed friendships with matatu operators.

And at just 16, he transitioned to become a makanga matatu tout. Before working as a parking attendant. Two years later, he became a matatu driver, a role that provided him with income to start his own businesses.

During Sudi’s first trip to Nairobi in 1998, he was captivated by the idea of owning a TV and promptly purchased a black and white set for his rural mabati house. Since then, his life has undergone a remarkable transformation, now residing in a 100 million Kenyan Shilling house, marking a significant improvement in his living standards over the years.
