Original supermodel Lauren Hutton leaves viewers shocked after she swears on The Project and flirts with co-host: ‘Awkward and uncomfortable’

Lauren Hutton rose to fame as the world’s first supermodel in the 1970s.

And the 79-year-old spitfire proved that age has not wearied her during a spirited appearance on The Sunday Project this weekend.

The iconic American beauty sat down with the panel on the Australian current affairs show for a chat, leading to some hilarious moments.

Lauren had to be extensively bleeped while answering a question on whether she still loved working.

‘I think it’s important…’  she began, before her next few words were censored at length.

It’s unclear what Lauren said, but her comment left co-host Michael Hing visibly blushing.

‘It’s just really nice to meet you, you seem really cool’ he squawked nervously, before Lauren cuddled up to him.

‘You’re not so bad yourself’ she crooned, leaving the panel of hosts laughing uproariously.

Viewers watching at home were less amused, with some wondering if the model wasn’t jet lagged after her long haul flight into Australia from the USA.

‘Is she… okay?’ asked someone else, and one more person tweeted, ‘Oh wow.. Lauren Hutton… what the hell just happened?’

Someone else wrote: ‘The booking producer of The Project really need to stop booking guests immediately after their flights into the country.’

Others were delighted with the broadcast, with one fan pointing out that Lauren is always a lively interviewee.

‘I’ll have what she’s having, Lauren Hutton. What a hoot 80yrs old. AMAZING’ wrote one person.

Another agreed: ‘I thought she was pretty amazing for someone who just got off a plane and a lot of fun. Just googled her on YouTube and this ’90s video shows her personality type.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to representatives for Lauren Hutton for comment.
