Oregon police find drugs in bag marked ‘not a bag full of drugs’

Police officers in Oregon were taken aback when they stopped a car and found a peculiar bag inside. The bag, which bore the words “Definitely not a bag full of drugs,” actually contained a significant quantity of illegal substances. Officers discovered 79 fentanyl pills, three fake oxycodone tablets, and 230 grams of methamphetamine inside.

The vehicle, driven by a man and a woman, was stolen. Upon inspection, police found several bags containing drugs. “The driver and passenger were both arrested. Inside the vehicle, there was a substantial number of packaged drugs, including methamphetamine and blue fentanyl pills, multiple scales, money, and a loaded firearm,” said Sergeant Kevin Allen, Portland police public information officer.

A photo of the bag, emblazoned with its ironic message, went viral on social media. The caption accompanying the photo read: “Last night, proactive police work from East Precinct night shift officers led to the location of a stolen vehicle in the area of SE 162/Division. There was a bag full of drugs, scales, money, and a loaded firearm. Driver and passenger taken into custody – multiple charges pending.”

Social media users found humour in the situation. One user commented, “The photo of the bag, the description of the bag–this is comedy gold!” Another remarked, “The bag clearly states it’s not full of drugs. Law enforcement had no right to disturb the bag’s privacy.”

Reginald Reynolds and Mia Baggenstos now face charges of drug possession and vehicle theft.
