Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has urged Kenyans to advocate for solutions and hold President William Ruto and his administration accountable.

In a statement via his official X account, Omtatah on Friday, November 22, 2024, emphasised the importance of accountability stating that every citizenry’s responsibility is to put the ruling government in check for the nation’s state.

“It is our responsibility as citizens to advocate for solutions and hold President WSR and his administration accountable for the state of our nation, vile inafaa. Good morning,” he said.

Ruto on Kenyans’ concerns

Omtatah’s sentiments come after Ruto admitted that listening to citizens’ views is a full-time occupation of leadership.

Speaking during the State of the Nation address on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in parliament, Ruto, disclosed that he has learnt through the hard way that all questions raised by the people must be answered in detail.

He further emphasised the importance of involving the people in the projects aimed at the country’s transformation.

“We have learnt, through the hard as well as more customary ways, that listening is a full-time occupation of leadership, and that all questions asked by the people must be answered thoroughly and in full. We have learnt never to take anything for granted, and make every effort to carry all our people along with us in our pursuit of our transformation,” Ruto said.
