Liam Gallagher has confirmed he will be joined by another member of his family for the Definitive Maybe 30th Anniversary Tour, but this isn’t what fans have been asking for.

Instead, the hitmaker has hired his son Gene’s band Villanelle to support the rockers at their upcoming shows.

The tour, which kicks off in Sheffield in June, will see Liam and Gene’s band play the entirety of Oasis’ iconic 1994 album, along with some surprise B-sides.

Since their split in 2009, Noel has turned down multiple requests to reunite with his Oasis bandmates, and will not be taking part in the anniversary tour.

Villanelle, featuring Gene, 22, on vocals and guitar, has performed in various locations including Glasgow, where Oasis were signed to Creation Records.

Liam said he thought his son’s bond was “good,” which was telling The mirror: ‘I’m putting them in 1st place for the DM tour.’

Last month, the singer said Noel had once again turned down a ‘big money offer to reunite Oasis, telling MOJO: ‘He’s not doing it. I called him! My people called Noel’s management team. We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing – because it was offered to us – and he said no.

‘It was a big tour, a lot of money. He turned it down. I understand, he’s got a divorce coming up. I’ll do the ‘Definitely maybe’ thing and have a good time without him.”

Oasis – known for Wonderwall and She’s Electric – sensationally split up in 2009 after a backstage row between the warring brothers.

In the fourteen years that followed, Liam and Noel have traded bitter insults in interviews and via social media.

Last year, Liam dropped a major hint at an Oasis reunion, reaching out to his older brother for a “hug,” declaring: “Oasis until I die.”

He wrote: ‘Listen I love Rkid, he’s going through a lot of snooping at the moment and it will come naturally, he knows where I am when he needs a hug after a hug Oasis until I die LG x’

The cryptic message received more than 20,000 likes as fans began pinning their hopes on highly anticipated tour dates.

Noel was left devastated after splitting from wife of 12 years Sara McDonald last year, and previously accused his brother of trying to rewrite the history of their band Oasis.

Liam had announced a major arena tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ 1994 debut album ‘Definitive Maybe’, claiming he wanted Noel to be part of the gigs – but Noel is not convinced.

He told the Daily Star: ‘The last tour was not a happy one. The other guy is trying to rewrite history that it was all fucking great. It wasn’t.

‘It was terrible from Oasis last year. You get one chance at life. Why be unhappy? Whether in your personal or professional life, why?

“You’re just wasting something precious.”

Noel recently said it is up to his brother to make peace. He even called him a ‘coward’ and insisted he would never call to reunite Oasis.

On talkSPORT radio, Noel explained: ‘Well, I put it out there. (Liam) doesn’t want to call… I mean, he should call me because he’s always going on about it. You would have thought by now that he would have a plan.

‘He doesn’t need to talk to me. He won’t talk to me, he’s a coward. So he should get some of his people, his agent, to call my people and say, “Look, this is what we’re thinking.” And then we have a conversation about it. Until then, he’s being a bit dishonest.’

However, Liam later responded to Noel’s comments in a message on Twitter, saying: ‘He’s full of stuff. He HATES Oasis fans (but) doesn’t mind them buying his records.’
