Nick Kyrgios confirms he will miss the Australian Open for the second year in a row on his OnlyFans account after succumbing to a wrist injury

  • Kyrgios won the doubles at the Australian Open in 2022
  • Reached the Wimbledon final that same year
  • He has been struggling with injuries ever since

Australian star Nick Kyrgios will miss the Australian Open for the second year in a row after succumbing to a wrist injury.

The 28-year-old had a fantastic 2022 season, reaching the Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic and winning the Australian Open doubles with good friend Thanasi Kokkinakis.

However, he has suffered a miserable series of injuries in 2023 that has limited him to just one professional match all year, a straight defeat to China’s Wu Yibing at the Stuttgart Open in June.

Kyrgios has been battling an injury for the entire 2023 season and will miss his second Australian Open due to a wrist injury

The Aussie star was not named in the main draw on Thursday and has confirmed on his newly created OnlyFans account that he will miss the local grand slam due to an ongoing wrist problem.

“Hey guys, Nick Kyrgios here, obviously had a really tough year with injury, had that knee surgery and came back a little early (which set me back a little bit, obviously had some wrist issues),” Kyrgios said.

“So this is a very disappointing time for me, but yes, I will not be able to participate in the 2024 Australian Open.

“Obviously it’s heartbreaking, I’ve had so many great memories there and I just want to get back to playing at the top of my game and doing well, and I just need a little more time.

‘I was so close to winning a grand slam. I want to make sure my body gets the time it needs to come back, so be patient.”

However, fans of Kyrgios won’t have to miss the event entirely as the star card announces that he will be commentating on the grand slam event.

“Even though I won’t be at the AO this year, I will still be there, commentating on matches, being there, I have some special things planned, so please still be excited,” he said.

“You know I’ll be there and hopefully see all the fans, I’ll see you there.”

The Australian Open announcement comes after Kyrgios launched his new OnlyFans page, with the Aussie star promising to reveal his ‘intimate side’ to fans.

“Launching an OnlyFans was a no-brainer,” Kyrgios said.

Kyrgios’ page is designed to be free to access and he says he will show his “intimate side” to his fans.

‘I’ve been speaking directly to my fans for years and I know what they want to see. Of course there are tennis balls involved, tips, tricks and a look behind the scenes, but they also show all the different sides of me. Gaming, tattoos, my intimate side – it’s all on the table and I’m bringing fans!’
