In addition to his teaching career, Al owned and operated Rider’s Clothing Store, a beloved establishment in Elizabethtown for over four decades. His commitment to his community extended beyond his professional endeavors. Al was a devoted member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, where he served in various capacities. He was also a founding member of the Elizabethtown A.M. Rotary Club and a valued member of the board of directors of the First Federal Bank.
