Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, stating that Israel pursues peace while battling “savage enemies” aiming to annihilate the country.

In his speech, Netanyahu declared that Hamas “has got to go” and affirmed Israel’s commitment to not participate in Gaza’s reconstruction, vowing to fight until achieving “total victory,” ultimately hinting that the multiple conflicts in the Middle East are far from resolved.

Speaking at the UN’s headquarters in New York, he emphasised, “If Hamas remains in power, it will regroup… and attack Israel repeatedly… So Hamas has got to go,

“Israel has every right to remove this threat and return our citizens to their homes safely. And that’s exactly what we’re doing…We’ll continue degrading Hezbollah until all our objectives are met.”

Netanyahu stressed the need for self-defence against these “savage murderers”, claiming that Israel’s adversaries aim to destroy not just Israel but also their shared civilisation, pushing everyone back into an age of tyranny and terror. He reiterated that Israel is at war and has no intention of retreating.
