Brentford star Neal Maupay joked he has landed a ‘big fish’ in Luke Littler amid a bizarre exchange on social media after the Bees draw with Man United.

Maupay took to social media after the 1-1 draw on Saturday to highlight an off-ball fight with Man United midfielder Scott McTominay.

Referee Simon Hopper booked both players for their involvement and Maupay took to social media to target the midfielder.

The Frenchman wrote on X: ‘This fan was desperate for my shirt’.

Man United fan Littler was quick to respond to Maupay, with the 17-year-old darts sensation replying: ‘Talks more than he scores!’

Maupay, who has scored eight goals in 30 games this season, shared a message highlighting Littler’s reaction.

The Brentford striker responded by using a clip of Littler landing the ‘Big Fish’ – a checkout of 170 in darts – in celebration of a recent Premier League darts match.

“Talk about a big fish,” Maupay wrote, adding laughing emojis and a fishing rod.

The bizarre exchange is the latest in a series of incidents in which Maupay has robbed players and fans of rival clubs.

Maupay had previously used darts to excite Tottenham players, with the Frenchman using James Maddison’s signature darts to celebrate after scoring.

Brennan Johnson took advantage of the darts celebration after putting Tottenham ahead in the match, with Spurs winning 3-2.

‘Apparently you’re not allowed to throw a dart because only he (Maddison) can do that, the way he was insulted. It was quite funny,” Maupay told SPORTbible after the incident.

‘The only thing is that it would have been even better if we had won. But in the end we lost.

‘At their house, in front of their fans, all their players were furious. That’s GOAT. All those players ran straight towards me every time they scored.

‘Just by throwing a dart, I got eleven players to toast. It was so easy’.

Just days later, Maupay clashed with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker when he was accused of making comments about the defender’s children.

The attacker has been criticized for his actions but has insisted he never crossed a line. He denies the allegations surrounding his alleged comments to Walker in his side’s 3-1 defeat to the Champions on February 5.

West Ham assistant manager Kevin Nolan was seen fuming as he confronted him during the 4-2 defeat of Brentford at the London Stadium on February 26.

While Maupay’s recent moments have largely ended in defeat, his latest post came after the Bees fought back against Man United to earn a valuable point.

Thomas Frank’s men earned a 1-1 draw with Kristoffer Ajer’s strike in the 99th minute, which canceled out Mason Mount’s opener three minutes earlier.
