The sudden and tragic death of Alina Page, a 35-year-old woman who fell from her luxury apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, has left her family and the public in shock. The incident, which reportedly occurred on 14 December 2023, purportedly unfolded in the aftermath of a quarrel with her husband, Brian Page. Brian, an Orthopedic surgeon, has expressed his profound grief and devastation following his wife’s untimely demise.
The couple, married for close to 16 years, had two young children. The authorities have reported that Alina took the fatal plunge shortly after an argument with Brian concerning her alcohol consumption. Contrary to this, The New York Post has reported that Brian was not present at home when the incident transpired, as he conveyed his despair over the loss of Alina, his “soulmate”.
There has not been an official declaration by the police as to whether Alina’s fall can be categorised as a suicide. The luxury apartment building where the incident occurred is known for its high safety measures. The residents have expressed their shock, with one resident confirming the robust safety measures in place, including high railings on the roof and specially designed windows with child safety measures. The resident further pointed out that even her small cats couldn’t fit through these windows, suggesting that Alina might not have been able to either.
Alina was discovered critically injured at the intersection of York Avenue and East 92nd Street at approximately 6.45 p.m. Despite being rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, she did not survive. The Page family was residing in a luxury building known for offering a private shuttle service to the subway every half hour and being family-friendly.
Alina, originally from Russia, was known for her social media presence where she frequently shared joyful images of herself with her two young children. At the time of the incident, Brian and Alina were a mere 11 days away from celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary.
The circumstances leading to Alina’s fall from the luxury apartment building are still being investigated. Though the police have not officially declared her death as a suicide, the incident has raised several questions about the safety measures within the building, despite reassurances from the residents.
