How his net worth appreciated

Salim Mvurya informed the members of the Committee on Appointments that his wealth increased by Ksh38 million to hit Ksh158 million after completing some of his property.

However, Mvurya did not mention the specific property he completed within 21 months he was in charge at the Ministry of Mining and Blue Economy.

“My net worth is Ksh158 million. It was Ksh120 million last time I faced the committee,” Mvurya responded to the question raised by Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Masika Wetang’ula.

“The value of some property and some property were completed,” he further responded on how he amassed the additional Ksh38 million in 21 months.

Further responding to Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah’s question, Mvurya confirmed that he has benefited from the mortgage scheme but it is not included in his wealth declaration form since it is not complete.

During the vetting session, the nominee denied allegations of misappropriation during his tenure as Kwale Governor.
