A motorcyclist sustained severe injuries after colliding with a BMW sedan on a frequently accident-prone road, police reported today. The accident occurred at 7am on the route near Wat Ladsanun in Khu Khot, Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Naruet Kantharos, an investigator at Khu Khot Police Station, responded to the incident along with volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation and emergency medical services from the Lam Samkaeo Municipality.
At the scene, responders found a heavily damaged Yamaha motorcycle with the registration number 3ขท2763 Bangkok, lying in the middle of the road. The motorcycle’s front was extensively damaged, with shattered alloy wheels.
Nearby, a 25 to 30 year old male, whose identity has yet to be determined due to the absence of identification documents, was found in critical condition. His left leg was severely broken and deformed, and he had sustained a serious head injury, with blood flowing from his mouth and nose.
He remained conscious but was in extreme distress. Emergency personnel quickly administered first aid and transported him to Prachathipat Hospital.
Approximately 50 metres from the crash site, a BMW sedan with a Bangkok registration was found parked by the left roadside. The vehicle’s right rear door had a significant dent from the collision. Police officers documented the scene and collected evidence.
Investigations revealed that this stretch of road is notorious for frequent accidents, mainly due to vehicles making U-turns, leading to collisions with oncoming traffic, particularly motorcycles. This incident marks the third severe accident on this road recently, with previous cases resulting in fatalities at the hospital. Police have urged the public to exercise caution and reduce speed when using this route to ensure safety, reported KhaoSod.
The police have summoned the driver of the BMW for further questioning at Khu Khot Police Station.
