The motorbike rider who was carrying comedian Fred Omondi before the fatal accident on June 15 has tragically passed away. Sylvester, the rider, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision with a Forward Travellers matatu. Fred Omondi also lost his life in the accident.
The committee organizing Fred Omondi’s funeral, led by Terence Creative and Ken Waudo, expressed condolences to Sylvester’s family.
Ken Waudo, speaking on behalf of the committee, addressed the press, saying, “We lost our brother immediately, and the boda boda rider. I understand he passed on over the weekend.
“We also wish to send condolences to the boda boda man’s family.“
Sylvester had been hospitalized at Mama Lucy Hospital after the accident, The rider sustained severe injuries to his legs and fractures on both hands. The committee termed the accident with the Forwar Travellers matatu as “unfortunate”.
Fred Omondi Autopsy Results
Fred Omondi’s autopsy report revealed severe head and back injuries that ultimately caused his death.
Waudo stated, “His head struck the matatu’s bumper, and upon impact, the force was significant. The metal of the matatu was bent from the collision. He suffered a fractured skull and numerous fractures on his right side—legs, hands, and multiple broken ribs.”
Waudo said that Fred Omondi’s injuris were so bad, that the comedian would have been a vegetable had he survived.
“The impact of his head hitting the road led to his immediate demise. If he had survived, he would have likely been in a vegetative state. Additionally, his spine sustained fractures.” He said.
Fred Omondi Burial Plans
Fred Omondi’s will be buried on June 29, at his hometown of Sega in Siaya County.
His remains will be flown from Nairobi on June 28.
A memorial service will precede the burial at CITAM Valley Road Church starting on June 27 at 11 AM.
