Morgan Wade has made what could be a life-saving decision.

The country crooner has decided to undergo a preventative double mastectomy after testing positive for a gene mutation that puts her at a higher risk of getting breast cancer.

The Fall In Love With Me artist, 28, who has continued to deny rumors of a romantic relationship with best friend Kyle Richards, released her new album, Psychopath, on Friday.

Morgan told People she got the news while on tour in Stockholm.

‘I was like, “OK, well I know what I have to do,”‘ she said.

‘I was given this knowledge and this information, so I’m not going to just sit there. I would rather have that peace of mind.’

The Wilder Days singer, who said she ‘hates bloodwork’  was reluctant, at first, to get the test.

‘I was like, “I really don’t want to.” I complained. I was like, “I don’t have time.”’

But it turned out that no needles were involved, all she had to do was spit into a tube.

Morgan’s family has a history of cancer. Her mother, Robin Fonville, 45, had a double mastectomy when she tested positive for the RAD51D gene mutation.

Robin encouraged The Night singer to be tested after a cousin tested positive.

The RAD51D gene ‘normally helps prevent cancers,’ according to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. ‘A mutation in this gene causes it to stop working like it should.’

The Around the World tour schedule has her performing through late October, so Morgan has decided to have her surgery in November.

Morgan has received some pushback for what some consider a radical decision.

‘People are like, “Well, what if you never got cancer?”’ she explained.

‘I was like, “Well, I won’t know because I’m going to do the procedure and then not worry about it.” If you have the opportunity to prevent something, prevent it. That’s the choice that I want to make.’

Now that she knows about her own risk, Morgan wants to help others feel comfortable about learning about their own risk.

‘I’ve met so many people and they’re like, “My mom had breast cancer,” and now they’re going to get tested and [are] finding out, “Oh my gosh, I do have it.” They just don’t know how accessible this stuff is.’

‘I’ve had so many amazing people reach out that have been through this process or have gotten tested to find out they do have the gene and they’re grateful for that knowledge.’
