Political activist Morara Kebaso was hospitalized on Friday, October 4, 2024, following a violent incident at the Bomas of Kenya. The chaos erupted during a public participation meeting concerning the proposed impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
He had attempted to address the crowd but was met with hostility. The attack comes a few days after Morara Kebaso was arrested and charged in court.
Reports indicate that as soon as Kebaso entered the venue, event handlers expressed concern that he was trying to disrupt the proceedings.
When he requested the microphone to speak, tensions escalated, and unidentified individuals began hurling chairs and other objects at him. In videos circulating on social media, Kebaso was seen seeking shelter in a corner before being escorted to safety.
Despite sustaining injuries, Kebaso remained defiant, later posting on social media, “I was barred from entering Bomas at the gate. When i finally got in, i was denied the mic at BOMAS floor. Chaos erupted. I am hurt. Headed to hospital. I live to speak another day,”
