Moi University woes

The University is currently struggling with debts amounting to over Ksh12 billion, which is threatening its existence unless there is intervention.

Speaking on Monday, November 18, 2024, Education CS Julius Ogamba assured Kenyans that the government will save the university from collapse.

“We have put in place a programme that will ensure Moi University operates sustainably. A comprehensive strategy to address its challenges is in advanced stages. We will soon update the public on the progress,” Ogamba said.

“It is unfair for students to spend nine years pursuing a degree. We are committed to resolving Moi University’s challenges with long-term and sustainable solutions.”
