Military lieutenant held in Nonthaburi woman’s murder case

A woman’s life was abruptly ended in her condominium in Nonthaburi’s Mueang district, with a military lieutenant now under arrest, facing accusations of her murder. The shocking event transpired yesterday, April 7, forcing the calm neighbourhood into an alarming situation.

Responding to a distress call, law enforcement officials arrived promptly at the condo located in Tambon Bang Kraso in Mueang district around 3am. The distress call had been made by a close friend of the deceased who had been speaking to her on the phone as she returned home.

The friend, horrified, reported to the police that she heard a scream from the victim as she entered her room.

Another friend, upon being asked to check on the victim, made the grim discovery of the victim’s lifeless body in her room and immediately alerted the police. The victim, known only as 46 year old Anyaphat, had a business selling packaging and boxes.

The police reported multiple stab wounds on her neck, face, and both arms. The officers estimated that she had been dead for approximately two hours before they arrived at the scene. Anyaphat’s room was in a state of disarray, hinting at a possible struggle.

The crime scene yielded DNA samples and fingerprints, which the officers collected for further forensic analysis. The condominium building, upon closer examination, revealed a trail of blood leading up to the 12th floor and blood-soaked clothes near the swimming pool on the 9th floor.

This trail led the police to a room on the 12th floor, where they found Lt. Jirawat, whose surname has been withheld. Lt. Jirawat is reportedly employed in the budget unit at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters.

He was taken into custody for further questioning at the Rattanathibet Police Station in Nonthaburi. Forensic investigators also collected his DNA samples and fingerprints for examination. Interestingly, Lt. Jirawat had some scratches on his face, according to the police.

However, Lt. Jirawat denies any involvement in the murder. The police investigation has been expanded to include military investigators.
