Michael Bolton, 70, Reveals Brain Cancer Diagnosis: Singer Had 'Immediate Surgery' Shortly Before the Holidays and Is Now 'Recovering at Home'

Michael Bolton revealed he was diagnosed with brain cancer just before the holidays, requiring “immediate surgery.”

The When A Man Loves A Woman singer, 70 – who recently appeared on The Masked Singer earlier last year – took to his Facebook page on Friday and told his fans about his health.

He began, “I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy New Year! I also want to share that 2023 has ultimately presented me with some very unexpected challenges.”

‘Just before the holidays it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery.’

The star then positively added, “Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recovering at home and surrounded by the immense love and support of my family.”

Bolton explained that he will “dedicate my time and energy to my recovery” and “take a temporary break from touring.”

“It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but I have no doubt that I am working hard to speed up my recovery and get back to performing soon.”

The artist said he is “extremely grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me over the years.”

In closing, Michael added, “Know that I hold your positive messages in my heart, and I will give you more updates as soon as possible. Lots of love always, MB.”

According to the singer’s official website, the Go The Distance hitmaker has several tour dates planned in 2024, with concerts originally set to kick off on February 1 in Florida.
